The Spawn is On!

Yeah! I had two JD in one tank at home and it was too small. They started to take it out on eachother. So, I moved one to school and a larger tank and the larger I kept at home but also moved into a much larger tank.

Well a few weeks ago we determined the smaller JD (in my classroom) to be a female. She laid eggs all over the log in her tank. We had to finally remove them.

Meanwhile at home, the JD there was growing at an alarming rate. So with the hopes that he is a male we have reintroduced them in the large tank. :dance2: The spawn is on! He is so protective now and they are moving rocks and cleaning wood. Babies soon I hope.

How big a tank do you have them in?

Right now they are in a 55G. Hoping to move up with tax refund. Male is the size of my hand and female is about half his size. Both are growing at a steady rate now.

THEY DID IT THEY DID IT THEY DID IT! My JD's have spawned!

The last several days have been spent rearranging the tank and selecting the perfect rock to lay eggs on and from the males wiggles and pink cheeks, I say he has fertilized them. They are both hovering and swimming over and touching the eggs.

So anyone have any ideas of how long before I start to see lil' guys?
