i have 3 nicaraguans but they all turned out to be male.
my lfs has 2 that are colored correctly for female but their heads look a little odd to me.
pardon my drawing skills...
a profile of what i know to be normal is the one on the left. the females at the store look like the shape on the right. is that area above the head mostly fat or soft tissue and will fill in when better fed? the store probably keeps them on a minimal diet to keep the waste and maintenance down.
