OK - get the picture. Fluorite? You must be joking. Round here, anyway.

Laterite you can get - at around £15 (what's that? about $20?) for a small box. So until I am Minister for Health rather than just working for the NHS, I'll pass.

But I've found this stuff: http://www.lifeforceonline.co.uk/php-scripts/moredetails.php?product=877&group=306&start=&search=&n=&o=

Got to be better than nowt so I've got a 15kg bag on order for my new 36x18x15. Anyone had any experience? My inclination is to think it'd have some of the benefits of fluorite but would need iron adding to the water column.

ive got a couple of bags of aquagrit through my regular pea gravel. Theres also an 'animal hous' bag of lacerite through it too. The results have been really good. Two of my plants flowered less than 48 hours after they were put in.

Incidently, Ive found nothing that equals the fertilizer bags you can get from green line aquatics. Amazing results, and they only need replaced every 3 months.
