I might be pickin up a 400 gallon saltwater tank tomorrow, it's free but the lady is not sure if all the pumps and stuff work, and it needs to be re sealed and the bottom apparently needs to be rebuilt, i haven't seen it yet so i'm not entirely sure what it comes with, she picked it up at the world expo in 86 and it has been sitting there basically since then, so my question how much do u figure it would cost to reseal it and rebuild the bottom (not entirely sure what that means) and what would i need to do it???

O the tank is 8 feet long buy 3 feet wide and 3 feet tall

So its been collecting dust for 20 years.. must be at least 10 to 12 mm glass for that size tank. Glass might still be ok. I dont know buddy. Personally i wouldnt go for it, but nontheless have a look and see what you could salvage, atnixon, germ, mayby you could shed a brighter light...:)

As long as the glass is intact seal that puppy up and get 'er wet!!

K well what would i need to resealt the tank then?? I will take some pics when i get it tomorrow, they won't be the best because the only camera i got right now is my phone. I lost my cable to connect my digital to the computer.

there is sealent (sp?) spicificaly made for aquariums so even if you do ge the bottom fixed I would fill it with water and see if it leaks and seal it on the inside and test again doing it till there was no leaks.. then I would ship that tank to me ill PM you the address :D

I am soo excited for you. I mean its defiantly gonna be hard work but hey at least uc an think of it like this. The money you could have spent on a 400 gallon buy equpiment. Does it come with a stand?
