My Severums just spawned. This isnt the first time, but this time I am hoping to grow out some of the fry. I set up a 10 gallon tank and am need help on the rest. I am thinking of puting the the rock that they layed the eggs on into the 10 gallon. In the past the fry have lasted no more than 3 or 4 days befor they get eaten by the JacK Dempsey in the tank, this time I want to prevent that. I would like to know how to do this. Does the water in the 10 have to be the exact as the the water they were layed in?
Thanks

I never have spawned severums, but i would say to use the water from the tank they were layed in with a sponge filter and heater. May have to hatch some brine shrimp to feed them after they hatch too.

Use a breeding tank to keep the fry seperated but in the same water. If you move them to another tank with different water, you may stress them out, especially coz they are so young. If you wan't with your 10gallon tank, remove about 60% of the water and replace it with water from the tank that they were origninally in. Do this just before you move them into the 10 gallon. Make sure the temperature is the same as well. You should acclimatise them too. Feed them baby brine shrimp (naupalli) or crushed flakes (make sure they are a good quality flake)

Match water the best you can and put them in their own tank. Or move the JD.
