Please? I just got some younguns of this species and would like some adult pics and species profile. I find some info on the blue flash, but not the albinos...

You can use the profiles from any Thoricthys sp. for care requirements. You should document and photograph these fish because there is little written about the albino strains.

I have been breeding firemouths for 25 years and have yet to isolate an albino. I have searched for years for T. meeki albinos and have come up empty. It is my "HOLY GRAIL".

Good luck with yours.

Realistically, hunting for spontanteous albino production is a lot like holding an umbrella, waiting to be struck by a meteorite, and expecting the umbrella to save you! :look:

It could happen, but the odds are astronomical against. Good luck, though; you've accomplished a lot with those wonderful firemouth you've produced along the way!

Oh no... I didn't DO anything... I just bought some younguns at our fish club auction and want to know best how to care for them, what they will look like when adults, water temps, ph, food preferences, breeding preferences, what the babies might be like, etc... Assuming they live long enough to breed  I bought 10 little spinssissimus two months ago and they've been about the only ones out of 9 tanks to die - I only have 3 left. Either they were not very healthy, or very hard to take care of...
