I recently have this discus who is aggressive yet it turn dark.May i noe y????All the other juvie discus all look fine but except for this one.I kept on thinking the water quality is fine,it kinda turn dark but it still eating like a normal baby discus.But it now change the colour a bit to become a bit paler.

typically color change is a discus' way of showing his mood. as long as its not changing to dark and staying dark for a period of time you should be okay

I agree, my discus change various shades of light and dark colors, especially when feeding. ANd how many discus do u have, tank size, etc.:read:

the discus that is darker also will darken to show the superior one that he is not challenging him.That is part of their pecking order.

its not that he's not happy its just that hes trying to keep himself from being picked on. usually the lesser one in the group will darken to avoid being attacked. most of the time this darkening will occur around feeding time cuz thats usually when they establish their pecking order but at some point during the day they should calm down and restore their colors.

it's one of the reasons many suggest a small shoal of 6..helps to distribute the aggression.

my discus is not having any problems of fighting cause i kept 7 discuses in my tank.it's the dark one usually won't come out beg for food.
