Hi everyone,
I have AC 30 filter on 20g, it came with the kit. I want to upgrade (within budget) and need advice. I can afford (on sale right now) AC 50. Does it going to make a difference? I am not planning to upgrade to bigger tank soon so going for a canister filter is out of question right now. I am thinking of upgrading to same type (Aqua Clear) just in case original AC 30 break down. Give me your thoughts on upgrading to AC 50 or AC 70 and what are the benefits going to be?
Thanks in advanve to all.:help:

Have a look at the chart at this link. Your AC 30 is going to work for up to a 150 gallon per our flow rate, which they are saying is maximum for up to a 30 gallon tank. The power consumption is the same up to the model 110. Depending on what size tank you are upgrading to, the chart can help there as well. Along with the increase in price as you go up the model line, is the cost of whatever you use with the filter (see the list of parts below the model chart). Another consideration is how much water movement do you want for the type of fish you may be keeping.

I use an AC 70 on my 29 gallon if that helps.

Thanks Fishyfry, H3D.
I have H Rasboras (4), Z danios (4) and 3 Gouramis. AC 50 will make some difference as far as better filteration goes, right? I am not familiar with movement of water and how it relates to fish I have? I just want best within reasons for my 20G. Thanks.

IMO it would not be worth the money to upgrade from an AC 30 to an AC50. Your AC 30 should be fine for the tank size and the fish you have. :)

Thanks H3D. I will keep AC 30 for now and reconsider upgrading if needed in the near future.
