Skimmer question?

Yersterday i took the little chamber off my skimmer to give it a rinse out.

The water was really foul smelling:eek: is this normal?
Since putting it back i now have tiny micro bubbles in the tank which where not there before i rinsed it out.
Have i done something wrong?

That is normal. Micro bubbles are from cleaning the skimmer too thoroughly. It will need to be broken in again.

I just dump the skimmate out of the cup and give it a quick swish in some old tank water at every water change, thisway it doesn't get too clean like you have done!

Exacty. And yes, that smell is normal. To me it enforces that my skimmer is working! :D
