I did a 20% water change on saturday and my nitTRATES are very high.

Salinity 1.021
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
PH 8.1
Temp 78
nitRATES at about 30

Is this ok for a change that was made 3 days ago? If not how do i fix it? I have an anemone could these levels hurt it?:help:

do another 10% on saturday...and keep that up weekly, the nitrates should slowly start to come down for you....it could have an effect it is sustained at high levels...what was it before you did the water change?

Everything was at 0 before the water change...Why would it spike after a water change??? Oh and i made a mistake I did a 10% water change.

Will these levels hurt my anemone?

What sort of water do you use. Is it tap water, R/O water etc?

With regards to hurting your Nem - as long as if the high nitrAtes aren't prolonged and it's looking Ok at the moment it should be alright.

Well I would not let them be that high for long!!

I would do 10% every third day untill they are back down, make sure your source water is at 0 also!!

I use R/O water. When I first filled the tank I made the mistake of using tap water. But have since used nothing but R/O for top offs and changes
