I was just wondering if inverts (Shrimps and starfish for example) can get disease and give it to my other fish. I am getting ready to go a buy a new shrimp and was wondering how I can tell if it is diease free.

99% of the time shrimp and other inverts are fine, to my knowledge (which is semi limited in this area) inverts do not transfer disease to fish, just make sure there are no sick fish in tanks that are on the same filtration unit as your inverts and you'll be fine.

most the time sickness can t be spread between fish and inverts but paracites can. a loy of moluscs can be host to paracites as well as even some crustaceans.
