Cycling with LR ammonia so high everything dies?

If cycling with LR does the ammonia get so high that it becomes dead?
 
Depends on a lot of factors, like how much die off is there and most importantly do you test your water during the cycle to make sure if it gets to that point you can do a PWC??
 
And the point you need to do a PWC is when the ammonia is off the test kits right?
 
I wouldn't go above 5ppm
 
So uhh.. do i do a water change if the ammonia gets too high? Germanman said usally I'm fine, but jojo said keep it under 5PPM. Well its bed time for me.
 
Germanman would you prefer to not do a PWC?
