Cute name and pretty fish...
(just a tip, that plant looks plastic, and plastic can rip a betta's fins/tail)

Thanks...Merlin was acting a bit strange the last few days but realized why he might have been hiding behind the filter. I just started the tank up this past Saturday and figured I better test the water tonight. Well...ammonia was between .5-1.0 . The ammonia spiked quickly this time around my 3 gallon took a week to show ammonia this tank is a 2.5 a little smaller. I did a water change immediately and will continue to do so until levels go to 0. This might be why he has been a bit shy and been hiding. I did a 50% water change tonight after I did the testing. Will see what happens tomorrow after water change.:thud:

Well Merlin is now in my 5g I decided to move him to this cycled tank and moved the platies into the 36g. White clouds are finishing off the cycle on my 2.5g. Merlin's behavior is still strange although he is not hiding behind the filter like he did when he was in the 2.5g. In the 5g he sits on the silk plant leaves or hides under it he doesn't really swim around like my other betta does. I have heard that some bettas are lazier then others. He does swim up to eat his blood worms. The water parameters are fine in the 5g. Don't know he just seems much more timid then my other betta.

I will send an updated pic as soon as I have a chance to take one I am adding more fish to my 36g tomorrow so will take more pics of that tank too. Like I said all this crazy betta does is lay on his silk plant he moves himself to eat his bloodworms but he is much lazier than my other betta lol.
