I have been to many sites to find tank size for a regal tang, with lots of different sizes!
I have a 70US gal tank, could i keep one?
Thanks

i personlly would not, 70US gallons is only 58 UK Gallons...
Just an opinion of course..

it is best not to get a tang unless you either have a 6' long tank or want to find it a new home when it gets larger. tangs need a lot of swimming room plus they get fairly large.

i would do nothing less than a 90 but then only if it was wide (front to back)

i guess my tank is more appropriate for a yellow tang?

also depends on how much rock you have in your tank. i have over 100 lbs in my 55 so there isn't a whole lot of open water for larger fish to swim in so i only keep 4 small fish in it and stock with corals instead.

To be honest, i still would not...These are the fish that i have always wanted, well, yellow tang i have now ( butcher )...
Hence the new DIY build that i did, removes my clampers somewhat, on the fish that i can keep in a comfy environment...

I know that i'm kinda stealing the thread, but will i be able to keep a white cheek and a orange shoulder tang in a 100 gallon with a 30 gallon sump? Well it's actually 90 gallons cause I'm going to only fill to the brace and including the LR and sand.

depends on how much room the LR takes up.

OK that could be a LOT of different sizes depending on how porus the rock is, so IT STILL DEPENDS!!!

Will I be able to if the tank doesn't have LR? Just checking. I don't know if this matters, but the rock is fiji premium rock.

if there where no rock there would be no teritory to establish and I don't think it would work, and no LR type does not tell me how porus the rock will be, just tells me its fiji rock.

A two pound rock could be tiny or it could be a medium size the more porus the rock the larger it will be per pound, you should know this if you had been researching like you say you have.

According to the websites it is "very porous"

Still can't give you a size, just get your rock and see if there is enough room for them to still swim freely!!
