I have been cycling my 20 gal tall for about 6 weeks now...started out with 3 zebra danios, before I found the forums and discovered this might not be the right thing to do {fishy cycle}, then added a few more fish a couple at a time...everyone has done really well, lost NO fish in the process! whew!! have been testing my tank 2x a day and been doing water changes as needed. Today I am testing 0 amm, .25 nitrites and 5-10 nitrates. Right now, I have the 3 zebra danios, 2 serpae tetras, 2 black skirt tetras {one really small one} and 3 small emerald cories. When my cycle is done, will I be able to add any more fishies?? would really like at least 1 more black skirt and 1 more serpae.
Also, will be setting up my 10 gallon again, it has been sitting empty since I got this new one, I used Amquel+ in it and my 5-gallon hex when I could not find my usual water conditioner {Jungle ACE} and I lost all my fish in both of them overnight. I am wanting to rescue a betta from one of the little bowls. What else could I put in with it??? I will be using the whisper 20 that came with the 20 gallon { I added an aqualclear 30 to it about 2 weeks ago...have both the filters running on it now} and will use some of the gravel, so it will be almost instantly cycled, or so I have read.
