Hey everyone.
I am considering purchasing some lighting for my new 25 gallon (24"x12x20). I'd love to grow some carpet plants like glosso or micro sword.

Looking over at AH supply, I can get a 55w or 2x55w that would fit well over a 24" long tank. 2x55watt seems like it would be a bit too much. If I do get the 2x55 watt kit, would I be able to swap out one of the 55w compacts for a 36watt?

I should probably email ah supply directly ... but it would be nice to hear from someone else with experience in this as well.

Definitely get their opinion, they helped me out alot.

My thought are go with 2 1x36. That would give just shy of 3 watts per gallon and give the the option to lower it by running the lights on separate timers.

I would run them 8 hours each with a six hour overlap. Gives you 10 hours of light with a six hours burst.

At that level you are definitely going to need some kind of CO2 supply.

2x36 is a very good option. 2x55 over a 25 gal is a lot of light.
