I would not pay more than $150 Bucks for a fish. Although some Angels are REALLY REALLY NICE!!!!!! But like some LFS is selling a HUGE moray for $300. But thats nothing compared to this:

That looks so wicked.

You think so? A price tag of $800 for a dragon is little to the cost they could and do run many for you can pay as little as $600 and as high a price as $5,000. But the average high price many do pay is at the $1,000-$1,500 range.

Yeah.. I would probably consult with my insurance agent first and see if there's available coverage for these fish.

4G's? That like rent for a couple of months, BIG @$$ HDTV, Brand new computer, Bedroom sets, Hell even a whole reef set up on craigslist. Man the list goes on and on. The day I pay 4G for a fish is the day I have enough money to build a 10,000G aquarium in my house!!!

lol can u do that?

cannot do it in the UK as i am aware as there are too many variables that can go wrong, so they refuse to cover..

I can get my system covered under the insurance, which i do, but that does not cover any inhabitants...

Some pet shops charge $1000's for a dog; why not spend it on a fish? Not saying I would, but obviously some people are willing to pay that going rate or they wouldn't be priced like that.

Good point, I guess they pay that much on the breed and the fact that if they buy two dogs from that expensive breed and they can make a profit when their dogs have pups. But my lps even have 1200 bucks for a bird!! I guess the rule of thumb is the more exotic looking and rare the more $$$ for it. I wonder how much they would sell goldfish if they were neon green:huh:

Whoa!

I actually didn't know such thing was available in UK. I wonder if it's the same in US. It makes sense that the inhabitants cannot be insured, but it totally makes sense to insure the equipments under earthquake or flood insurance or something... maybe even home insurance under theft.

Afterall, that's where large portion of my wealth is, unfortunately... :)

The only possible way i would get that fish was if i was a multi-millionaire and if that fish was so hardy that i could throw it into a pot of boiling water for 5 seconds then take it out without a scratch.

We can get covered under the "accidental damage" part of our household contents insurance. So should anyone fall into it/knock it over etc it's covered but if they're over a certain amount it has to be stipulated on your policy. (sorry my old job creeping up on me!!!)

I would hazard to say only someone who's never had a good dog would ask that.

My dog's cancer removal surgery last week was $5k. And worth every penny if she sticks around a couple more years. ;)

Yea my g/f and I were looking for a puppy and got one off this guy for free. Well turns out the pup had a fracture on one of her hind legs and an ear infection. The 1st day with our "free" puppy ended costing me 4oo+ bucks from our 1st visit to the vet. Shes grown on me and I guess it was worth it (although I could of dropped that money on my tanks!!!)

We've got 3 cats .. who one especially loves watching the marine tank from the cat scrathing thing we've got sitting right next to it ...

... quite strange how our cat will train his eye on our longnose hawkfish - whether or not it's the colour we're not sure, but have read that the longnose hawkfish remember and can recognise what's watchign them ... so we're pretty sure the hawkfish will be thinking 'it's that blooming cat again'

I honestly don't see anything that would make it worthy of having such a price tag.
