I think my plants keep breaking and clogging my internal filter, I've had to wash sponges 3 times in past week - any advice on how to control easily?

Any reason as to why the plants are breaking? O.o

put something over the intake to keep it out.

To answer both questions

I dont know why the plants are breaking, they look healthy

I have put pantyhose over the intake to stop the clogging

is it helping?

Yeah it is, but has stillclogged once since I did it as it didn't completely cover the inlet.

I'm sort of thinking about possible causes now...but just worried that the filter isn't up to the job. Either its too old, or something. Recently replaced the Impellar so its not that.

Anyway, thinking it through, looking for influences on my thoughts on this one.

Internal filters and planted tanks generally don't play well together.

I think I'm finding this out the hard way!
