Black Angel NOT Eating

Suddenly My Black Angel Is Not Eatting and Pooping White. Does he Have soime infection that he could be treated for? Otherwise he appears normal
without any swimming difficulties or any skin manifestations. The other Angel fish (a leopard angel fish) appears to be eatting normally.

Yes he's probably sick....ANgelfish are ridiculously fragile and it happens all the time. If he is , you'll know, because when they get sick they die fast usually.

You can try to treat with some multi-purpose anti-biotic like Maracyn but you better hurry.

angels are not ridiculously fragile I have found them to be very resilient.

but they are susceptible to some infections and parasites.
slimey white poo and not eating could be either a bacterial infection (internal) or internal parasites(camillanus and capillaria have been fairly prevalent lately.

camillanus are sometimes visible around the anus of the angel and appear as red threadlike projections..they do not always show themselves. capillaria are invisible to the naked eye. if it is internal parasite they angel can survive for weeks with no food.

a bacterial infection is a different story..and could kill the fish in a sfew short days if it a heavy infection.

you can treat for both..maracyn/maracinII is a good combination that will cover many bacterial infections and can be used at the same time.

treating for worms is usually a quick treatment.parasite clear may work but if it is camillanus you may need to find Levamisole Hcl(available at some feed stores in the US. or there has been some treatment with fenbenzadole and flubenzadole..veterinarians carry these.

you can search Levamisole and find threads pertaining to this..Liv2 padl has posted a very good synopsis of using this med..it is very effective for treating these parasites.
