I have run out of instant ocean for my molly tank, the store will not be able to to get anymore for about 10 days or so. I need to to a pwc but all I have is regular aquarium salt, will this be ok to use for the 10 days? They are doing so well with the instant ocean, I hate for them to suddenly not have anything.

Am I ok to use just regular aquarium salt for now??

From what I understand, aquarium salt and Instant Ocean are two different things so I would advise against it. Couldn't you simply change less water until the IO comes in?

LOL if it were only that simple. I live in the boonies, no pet store around here except the supply store we have.

Instant ocean and aquarium salt are two different things. Instant ocean has all the minirals and such to make true marine water. Aquarium salt is just NaCl, the only comparison it has to instant ocean is that it is salt.

Ten days wouldnt be long to go without a water change, just top off as needed til you can get the correct stuff to put back in.
