Is there a way to lessen the flow on an Eclipse 2 hood/filter? I have one on my 20gal tank and the current is so strong that it's digging a hole in the substrate at the opposite end (the outflow is aimed diagonally across the tank into the opposite corner. More filtration is good, but this is a tad over the top!

Tonight I was grating my teeth over the flesh-colored pantyhose over my sponge filters (keeps fry out of the sponge that leads to the Eclipse hood filter gear).
I never thought to use black pantyhose; what a great idea.

And on am ore serious note....watch the 'denier' (my Wife tells me this is how fine the weave is) isn't too fine, otherwie you'll cut off flow too much
