Well, I finally saved up and bought a new light fixture for my 10G.

My question is, will I start to see any different growth on my liverock once I install it? I had your basic 15W hood before. Also, lots of places seem to classify coral light care based on: Low, Medium, High. Which one does my light fixture fall into now?
Ah and later I will have an uknown coral for you guys to ID. I got a free frag from someone I met at my LFS (they were bring in their new frags for trade).

I would also say between Low and Medium. That's actually a pretty good fixture. Never had one myself, but know someone who has had pretty good success with it. You definitely wont be able to keep high light requirement corals, but I still think there are a lot of options under this lighting. IF you choose to buy something that requires moderate amount of lighting, I would try to put it as close to the light as possible. Another way to take most out of these lights is to go without the glass top. You want to deliver as much light as possible, and both glass top and deep water will both interfere with this.
Congratulations on the purchase. I think you will see pretty noticeable change. But make sure to use good water and do frequent water change. Under lights like that, if you don't maintain your tank, the first DRASTIC change you will see will be algae bloom. Good luck.

Thanks :) I am pretty excited. Hopefully I will have lots of luck with it. Thanks a lot for the info. I am glad to see someone else has had success with it.
