could you feasibly fit a fluval fx5 on a 50 gall? if so would you need to make a spray bar?

the spray bar would distribute the flow rather than one outlet, which could be too strong, so I would get one

you can never have toomuch filtration, I dont have an FX5, but I know their much bigger than my eheim rated at 440 l/h. My tank is 96l, and I have that along with a fluval 2+ internal and a UGF, I think I must be turning over something like 600 l/h, i.e. my entire tank cpapacity turns over every ten minutes...my water is crystal clear and everything looking healthy.

So, to answer I would go for the fx5 with a spray bar.

The FX5 has two nozzles for output so you could aim it in opposite directions. Also the connector on the intake and output tubes can be adjusted so you can go that way too.

as the nozzle is split this diffuses the flow by quite a lot, i just point mine up and the flow is fine.
