Ok, I just started noticing these little snails in my tank and I think they're snacking on my ferns that I just tied to a driftwood. Right now, I think I've only seen 4, do I just squash 'em as I see them or is there a better alternative?

you sure theyre actually eating the fern, or just cleaning it? ive never seen a snail that actually ate the plants themselves, only dead or dying plants and detrius.

Some of the leaves looked like it's been chewed (jagged edges) up to the spine of the leaf. I tried to take a pic but I keep getting blurry pics.

the portion of your plant they are eating may also be dying or rotting.. snails are like the maggots of the plant world.. theyll only eat living leaves if they are absolutely starving, which is honestly hard to do IMO

Do you know what species of snail they are? What do they look like?

I'll try to take some pics tonight. They're a little less than a centimeter long and have pointy shells.
