The first fish i added to mine was a maroon Clown fish(she is around 6 yrs old now)...they're hardy and fun to watch. then add like a lawnmower blenny or something like that, then when you r tank has matured enough and you have enough knowledge in the hobby you can then add a bubble tip anenome for the clown.
Thats just a start from there you can figure out what else is compatible with everything in your tank . Damsels are a nice splash of color for your tank also.
The best thing you can do is write out a list of what fish you would like in the tank, research them and post them here for people opinions...Its a little hard to say which you should introduce first as this may impact on future stocking...
We first started our marine tank out with 4 yellowfin damsels and 2 Percula Clownfish (Nemo's!).
We bought the Clownfish as an established pair (clearly a male & female due to the size of them).
We have to admit that we wished we had never put the damsels in the tank as our 4 seemed to be the most aggresive fish we've ever seen (aggresive to not only themselves but the other fish, especially new ones).
We have farmed the 4 damsels out to one of our friends who liked them as they're setting up a marine tank themselves so we don't have that issue now.
Some people will say that the yellowfin damsels are not aggresive, I think we were just unlucky, but they're very good fish to start a marine tank out with as they're very hardy.
The one thing I will say is if you want the Clownfish, dont think about putting an anenome in for at least 8-12 months as anenomes do require established tanks and good water - we found out the hard (and expensive) way by putting one in too soon - however have to say our clowns were very happy living in a cave they made home till we put an anenome in for them.
i would say domino damsles or tomato clowns since they are like super fish. they can live in fresh water (not really) the only thing is that dominos get hyper aggressive. Mine tries to "kill" my hand whenever i algae scrape..
