Plecos and sand?

i have sand in all my pleco tanks, and except for the occasional storm he cause when they play it seems fine. Some will burrow in it a little.

The only downside i have right now is I keep having to replant things they dont like where i put them the first time.

You will also have to siphon poo out a lot, its very easy to see

they will do fine in a sand substrate. my tank is part sand part eco complete. the only problem i have is the poop is very easily noticed in the sand and they mix the eco complete into the sand sometimes.

I have Pleco's in two tanks with play sand as the main substrate- they LOVE it, but as others have said, their crap majorly accumulates on the surface and I have to rinse the filter media at least once a week to keep the filters running at full capacity. And a gravel wash atleast once every two weeks.
As for plants, Swords and Crypts are the only ones that I keep with them.
