Angels in a 55g

I think you could keep 4 adults in there without too much trouble, assuming there is not a ton of other stuff in there and they don't start to spawn (the breeding pair will defend).

I have two pairs in my 55, both "busy" every two weeks. One pair stays at one side of the tank and guards there eggs, the other pair at the other end likewise.

Other fishies stay in the middle during the "egg time".

All happy as far as I can see; if I had another singleton or another pair then there'd be big problems!

I just had to raise the temp to 85 because of some ich and I had a pair spawn. They ended up killing my third angel and bugged the heck out of the pearl. As long as they aren't spawning you should be good with two pair...

technically you can keep 5-6 in a 55..but chances are you will get a pair..when that happens..the pair will most likely take over atleast half the tank..and quite possibly harass or kill other angels. unless you get a second pair..

I currently have 2 pair in a 55..a little bickering during spawns.. but when not spawning they get along fine.

angels can spawn every 2 weeks..they will most likely slow down with age..(not always) but spawning take a lot out of them.
