How bout them water changes. sounds to me like mr. krib has Aeromonas or Pseudomonas. I was just informed recently of a friends fish having the same things that carried the exact same symptoms your krib does. I am not sure how to cure this but if its not cured be looking for your male to be laying on his side soon with red streaks across internal bumps outlined in white.
