Supporting/Suspending Live Rock??

Anybody have any good sites/links/advice for tips on setting up the rock in the tank? I've seen pics of rock tied/glued to pvc pipe or glued to other rock - and then some people just stack it...I'm having trouble finding more than just a blurb or two on the subject, is it necessary to secure the rock with ties/glue/etc or just make sure the stacking is sturdy?
 
As long as if it's sturdy and can't easily be knocked over is the main thing. I have a couple of pieces where I've used Epoxy to hold them together as my clown fish keeps knocking them off if she doesn't like where I put them. I'm not sure whether or not I'd use it again though as it does look a bit like bubble gum when it's set. (supposed to be coraline colour!!)
