Hi,
just installed new lights for my cycling/ lcuring live rock tank. Lights are HO, 4 bulbs --daytime, actinic, moonlight. Ive had the daytime/actinic on today for 3-4 hours and my tank temp has understandably risen 3-4 degrees. Should I compensate for this daytime temp rise by adjusting my heaters, and in turn have a colder nite time temperature with the weak moonlights on? My concern is becuz ill be setting up a reef, then fish tank, and I heard water parameters are very sensitive with reefs.

most people use little clip on fans and direct them so they are blowing across the water surface to dissapate the heat...should be fine for you....

air conditioning or fans are the nest way to go IMO.

I only use a chiller. Not sure what sort of temp you guys get in summer, but here we have little option. All things considered, a good chiller, a redundant set of heaters, is getting to the least expensive part of your tank. Not to mention the reduction of stress (me included) to all the inhabitants.
