I was cleaning my tank of plant debrie the other day.
and I heard a rustling, heard it again and went to garbage and figured it was the plant stuff slipping down the plastic, went back to cleaning the tank and heard it again, Went to the garbage and lisned but heard nothing, picked up the can and shook it and heard it again! tuned the can upside down on the floor and went thru all the plant gunk and nothing, looked in the can and there was one of my dwarf rainbows! Luckly I had a new liner in the garbage so there was nothing but plant matter in it!
Threw the poor guy back in the tank where he joined is brothers and sisters and looks to be absulutly fine.
I like a happy ending:p

Lucky rainbow!!! :) Congrats on hearing the "wee beasties" and finding something for it...something that you can keep, anyway...I found a bat in a garbage can once at my church. We had to release it for some strange reason!

Ever sucked up a fish with your siphon hose, and have him get caught/stuck in there about half way?..lol..This has happened to me before...I ended up having to cut him out of there. Now I just detatch the quick release from my canister filter and use the filter hoses as a siphon. Much easier to deal with, especially with the shut-off valves...and no fish get sucked up:D

A few months ago one of the albino corys got sucked up in the vacuum hose. I was going to cut the hose in half, but then had a better idea. I removed the gravel guard from the other end, and blew into the tube. The cory popped out into the tank, and is fine.

this exact thing happened to me last waterchange. I was trimming my plants and took out the clipping and trew them into the garbage. I heard a russling in the can and thought it was jstu the leaves uncurling(i crumpled them up so they would fit in). I finally went over to check and saw my bristlenose pleco flopping around in teh garbage. I screamed and make my dad come and pick him out. I couldn't get him out with a net and i was too chicken to pick him up with my hand. Good news is that she is fine even though the garbage was filled is all kinds of gross stuff.

I have always worried about the BN accidentally being throw out since he always is stuck to the sword plant leaves. As a precaution i shake the leaves out and check them over before i take the cutting out.Guess i didn't look hard enough:p

I had a pc. of driftwood realy thick with anubis that I took out to trim. Got a scare when I see this thing crawling out from the leaves. Its was a ghost shrimp. I had even forgot I had it.
Well... truthfully, I thought it got eaten up long ago! I mean ..
How can you find a ghost shrimp in a 65 gallon heavely planted tank?

Jeez, Punch, sounds like your tank engages in spontaneous generation! Wanna trade? :)
