There was septic black sludge on the filter foam sleeve. Just thinking about the smell is making me urp a little.

Here are the latest tanks in position and undergoing a leak test and sanitatization. The little 10 gallon is empty but clean and ready to go as a QT.

looking nice, get some more pics up here when they're stocked! what you putting in them?

That chair and ottoman are going to get a lot of use! Looks great! I think they follow all of us home, I just brought home a 10g from a yard sale for 50 cents

I know what you mean, I was just given 3 ten gallons from some neighbors, I guess they think I"m the fish lady of the street now lol
I kid my bf about putting all the tanks in the living room along all the walls and taking out all of the furniture except having one revolving chair in the center of the room where I can just turn around and around and watch all my tanks lol

great setup.

I hadn't thought too much about stocking the 55 yet but the 29 is going to be a molly fry nursery... sorta... I have to see what the LFS will do for me with em. I'll take store credit. This tank is also the one I want to get going with as little money as possible. It was found at the curb (tank, hood, light and stand) and so far it's only cost a can of rustoleum for the base. I had a filter from an old tank.

I do want to go with some bigger fish in the 55 like angels or ciclids but what I really want to do is a slow fill on that one. This will be the one I get going with live plants and if things go well we can plant up the others from this ones clippings. So far this set up has only cost $75 for the tank, base, hood, light and HOT magnum.

Both need good heaters and I don't mind spending good money on heaters.

Don't know about a model number on your HOT mag, but it doesn't look any different than the two I've purchased in the last couple of months. You could certainly buy a new foam sleave or any other part you might need to replace. This lays it out: http://www.petsolutions.com/Default.aspx?ItemID=47490064

Congrats on the tanks. You have a lot of fun ahead of you. I use two HOT mags on my 55 for filtration, and it works great.
