Any other fish you plan on having with them? I have 3 in a 55, and 7 in each of two 90's. Breedpairs are in 40s by themselves.

I was planning on a discus only tank. Maybe a show tank for the living room. Also what would be the best kind of live plants to keep in there.

I have 4 in a 55 and they are extremely happy. I might add another in the future if I see a color strain I really like. I'd say they should be kept with at least 4 to be happiest, and my tank is minimum for 4. As far as live plants, I have amazon sword in there and they're doing extremely well with no special lighting or C02. Java fern would do better at the higher temperatures then Java Moss. Also anubias(sp?) would be another good choice for the high temps discus need. (You wouldn't happen to be the Steve P. guitar player would you, the teacher I had?)

I also have 4 discus in a 55 gallon, and they are doing very well. That's the absolute minimum I would keep them in, though, unless you have a breeding pair as rbishop said.
