Can anyone tell me what king of algae this is and some ways to combat it. I'm doing a 30 percent water change 2 times a week and my ammonia and nitrite are 0 with a 10 nitrate reading. Phosphates are between .5 and .25. I am using DIY CO2 with 2 2-liter bottles, i think that I am keeping my co2 around 30 ppm. This is in my tank in my signature.

that, my friend, looks like some BBA (black brush algae, aka black beard algae). get yourself some Prime and start dipping.. thats what i had to do to clear up the outbreak in my tanks.. but once it was gone, it was gone.. and i never saw it again.

EDIT: i cant believe i said excel.... brain fart!

although dosing with excel CAN help, but direct contact with full-strength Prime will kill.
