I'm interested to hear the behavior of your dempseys during water changes. Mine gets really scared. Might not eat for a day or two after. The dempsey was showing an interesting color though. It had the reddish/maroonish (dunno what color exactly) that i've seen on mature dempseys.
Another question. The 1st pic was taken without flash. 2nd with flash. Which do you prefer? I realize that the 1st one is dark.
