I think my betta has a swim bladder infection, it seems to mostly float on its side against the glass at the top. I have had this fish for about 3 years now and it has been doing this for the last 6 or 7 months. It mainly happens after water changes and will go away after about 5 days in the same water. he tries very hard to get to the botton but usually gives up after a while. he also has very little interest in eating and gives up on that if the food is too big. Any sugestions on what this could be and how i can fix it?

It certainly sounds like a swim bladder disorder. Mic and Maddy Hargrove recommend treatment with an antibiotic, and the lowering of water levels.
