Can you use landscaping sandstone as a base rock to propagate live rock? I had heard you can, but i am worried about it affecting water quality and if it would actualy host anything. Any other ideas? I checked out the garf page, that looks like it works. Thank You! :bowing:

persoanlly, i would not as sand stone errodes very quickly when it constantly has a current of water passing over it...If you can imagine sand stone as your base rock, with water constantly erroding it, this will then create a very unstable base and the potential for the sand stone to break apart is quite high...we all know how weak sand stone can be once its wet...
Just my opinion of course
