Hi I posted a question a few days ago regarding my oranda Tallulah having a white fuzzy patch above it's mouth. I was told that it's possibly a fungal infection and was advised to get Maracyn or MarOxy. Well I have them both but do not know how to use it. Do I still do a water change my nitrate level is now 10, but it was very high before but I kept doing water changes every couple of days and today it's at 10. I need to know if I could use both products together, it says it's safe to use together. But it would help me more to hear this from someone who's experienced in this. Do I just drop the tablet in and let it do it's work or is it more to this? Should I stick with one or the other?

Will appreciate any and all help/advice.

Thanks in advance,
Raquelle

Follow the directions on the packages to the letter. They're definitely safe to use together. If the package says continue with regular water changes, do that. If it says wait, do that. The lab that makes those medications is excellent, and I would absolutely trust their package. We've all had great results with their products.

Thats good advice flaringstutter. I like your avatar.

I think the instructions say to do a partial water change before starting treatment, and remove carbon.

If at some point during treatment you get an ammonia or nitrite spike, I would change water before adding the next dose whether it says to or not.
