Well, I just got the message from one of my top-floor co-workers that he would like me to build and set up a tank for his office. Im so dang excited to do it, not just because its fun to set up aquariums, but because it's my "iniciation" to being promoted to the top-floor of our office building!!!! I believe that its just a way for him to get a tank set-up for free, but whatever; Its all good.

He wants a 200g+ reef tank with a couple nemos and yellow fish. lol. Theres no strict budget, be he wants it to be <$10000 and not waste much money.

Im immediately thinking that a 6*2*2.5 ft. tank (225g) would be appropriate for his office.

Heres a list of things I'm going to purchase for the tank. Everything is here except the filter, tank, and cabinet, which I will all build myself. Also, the calcium will be dosed via calcuim chloride and PH will be regulated with CO2 and a PH controller. Do you see any problems with that? If that won't work, I'll stick to a regular calium reactor.

I don't think you missed anything. Wow I'd like to set up such a giant tank too!

Thanks g-man. Ha, thats funny, because the bad guy in the game which the character in my avator is in is named g-man. g-man = http://www.highjumpers.de/anders/gman/freeman_gman2.jpg

Thanks for the advice on phosguard and the reef crystals. Though I've had experience with the koralia pump, and I agree they're good, but he is looking for the poewerheds to be as conceiled as possilbe, and in the setup I'm planning, the powerheads themselves are in little boxes connected to the (outer)sides of the tanks.

It sounds confusing, so I made a really bad MS paint drawing.

those 2 black boxes on the sides are powerheads. When the tank is doe, there will only be those little http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=11363 sticking out.

Oh, and how large of a refugium do you think would be needed? What would I put in this fuge aswell?

/thanks/

I'd rather stick to powerheads as there's no tubing involved. If a pump/pipe leaked all over the floor I'd be fired for sure.....

yea that would be bad.. Man I wish I had a cool as$ bos like that to give me 10Gs and have at it. You have to post some pics for sure when the projects starts getting off the ground.

Sounds absolutly fab....i am envious.....

Couple of things i have picked up one...

1) The maxijets are not that reliable when connected to a wave maker...
2) Reef crystals for salt
3) Live sand..dont waste your money, just buy Aragonite sugar grade sand, Caribsea is a good one to buy..
4) Essential Elements - should not need as the Reef Cyrstals will provide the trace elements that you need
5) An RO Unit......100 GPD would be good for this system..

Sump wise, big as possible...suggest around 50Gal...but, this will all depend on the stand and what you can fit in it..Stuff to go in the sump, besides the inlet and return area will be the fuge. In there you should have a deep sand bed with live rock rubble and macro algae like chaeto or Caulerpra...A nice light to go over the fuge...of course, the skimmer and heater can go down in the sump to keep it minimal in the display tank....

It all sounds great, a nice little plan dude......
