I hope they are numbered 1-31, top to bottom like the poll at the top. Some pics have numbers out of sequence and can lead to confusion.

I chose number 9.
It's almost surreal to believe that's an aquarium and not some far-away mountain vista with the viewer crouched in waist-deep grasslands. The water's surface reflecting the top of the 'mountain' adds to that wonderful, dream-like feeling. I love when an aquarium can feel like more than just a container with pretty fish and plants. But that's the artist in me speaking out. :P
My only other thought was that it needs one very peculiar looking long-finned fish in some cloud-like pastel pink or white color dancing around in the 'sky' to add to the whimsy. Superb tank!!!
And to everyone who entered, great tanks and good luck!!

If I had the room to do it, I once heard of making a very art-deco aquarium using aquarium sealant, black sand, white 'icecube' glass, silver kitchen utensils (mainly whisks) and then having zebra danios and panda cories.
I loved the end-result... if I only had the time, space, and the freedom. Id make all kinds of freaky-deaky aquarium art. :P

Number 9 is very surreal. I liked all of them. But I did choose number 15. I liked the way all the plants and the decorations looked.:dance2: :dance2:

I was not viewing page one, OOPS!
I do have a question for the wonderful staff, Am I premitted to ask some questions on the setups and such in morder to best place my vote on the hobbyist who is keeping a well age aquarium system. Now I not keep freshwater myself now for what seem to be like forever for the only few things i do with freshwater is I cook, drink and shower in it.
I a question for three TOTM choices, #4, 23 and 28

No, as we do not want to say the names of the picture owners as that may spark off favouritism between members, so, we keep it on the just the pictures..
Thanks Buddy

It has to be number 9 for pure originality and lateral thinking. i would just like to congratulate all entrants though, as all of the tanks are very well designed and look fantastic. I will be entering three of my tanks next month and hope that they come up to the same standard as this months. Long live Harvey and Gwyneth!!!

WOW, #23 has got to be one of the coolest tanks Ive ever seen. I am really into big tanks with big fish and peacocks are so colorful they really stand out in that tank. Great job and who ever posted that pic, I would really love to see some more pics of it. OUTSTANDING!!!!

3, 5, and 9 where my faves. 9 would have been an almost instant pick had there been some fish or a little more depth on the right side.
In the end, I picked 3. It was kind of busy, but very fulfilling artisticly.

I chose 25 as well. I would love to have that tank in my house!
great tanks.
9 is brilliantly creative and got my vote. Then I regretted it when I considered that there are no fish apparent in the pic.

Quite a valid point Coler..well presented...But, do fish make a great aquarium? or the setup and presentation as whole?..hmmmmm...

yeah I know; I don't think it ought to be a requirement that fish be in the pic...but I think 9 kinda blatantly doesn't have any at all which makes it a glass box which is incidentally full of water.
Having said that it is a beautiful still life :) and it got my vote...and hey maybe there are in fact fish in there somewhere :)

Amen Niko. People forget that aquariums don't always have to have fish. "Dutch aquariums" are basically aquatic gardens and often have no fish or only a few small fish present. And we all know that there are aquariums where no plants are represented... and even ones where there's nothing in the tank but water and fish. Not even substrate!! It's still an aquarium because of the aquatic element.
Aquarium is a broad-spectrum term for an aquatic housing. Just like a terrarium is an earth-based housing and a vivarium half and half. It's just a term for the element represented.
There are some 'pretty' tanks represented here... I chose number 9 with confidence because it was more than just a pretty tank. It is artistic and unique. Not only that, but I'm sure it took a creative mind as well as quality aquatic care to create it. This is why I felt it deserved my vote. Because it had that special 'something more' that I didn't see in any of the other choices.
Besides, I love anything in contests that stays within the rules and boundaries... but tends to go against convention. :dance2:
