Suggestions for Community Mix?

I've recently reestablished my tank after a 14-year hiatus. It's a 29G, with low light, planted with thriving Anacharis and Water Sprite. The cycle is now stable.

Here's the community that I'm considering:
Dwarf Gourami (Pair or Single?)
Mollies (Trio: 1M 2F)
Cardinal Tetra (7-9)
Coryadoras (1 or 2)

I plan to add them in stages, so as to not overload the existing cycle.

Here are my questions:
1) I have two Buenos Aires Tetras that I suspect are rather vicious. What to do?
2) Is the proposed mix a good community for a peaceful tank? I'm not at all concerned about breeding.
3) Is the proposed mix too large for my tank?
4) If not too large, what else might make a good addition?

Thanks to anyone who might advise.

i think that the setup you are considering would be good, with the exception of the mollies.. scrap the mols, and you'll be set. :)

Take a look at my Sig, it is similar to what you are proposing. I would say that my tank is heavily stocked IMO, but I have made adjustments in providing ample cover, caves and plants to mitigate this.

I think your mix will work out well. The gouramis may be hit or miss if you get more than one insofar as they will be aggressive towards each other unless you get lucky with the individual's personalities...

I have no clue about Buenos Aires Tetras?

yeah, I think you've got a nice set up.

maybe a few black tetras (instead of mollies) would look great next to all those nice colors on the cardinals, dwarf gouramis... a bit of contrast.

I wouldn't mix mollies with the rest of the fish on that list. I'd also just do one dwarf gourami and increase the number of corys to at least 4.

The Mollies would limit your stocking greatly...

Take out the Mollies and go for 12 Tetras, much better than 6-9.

Most Corys are far better off in Groups of 6, so go for 6 Corys as well.

That should do it....you'll have the Gourmamis being all graceful at the top, the tetras schooling in the mid and the Corys scurrying at the bottom (my dwarf corys rest in a school)

Sounds good to me!

I thin you should have more tetras

I had 7, but the gouramis ate them!

Yup, right in front of me too! I have tried to add more, and the same. I chalked it up the gouramis telling me "No more fish in my space!"

Since, no issues
