Proper method for MH replacement?
I'm changing three MH bulbs all at once. The pendants are all on pulleys so they can go up two feet and down almost to the water. Right now my bulbs are so old, I'm not sure the age. I'm using the same kelvin, but of course the intensity will be a lot higher. Hamilton 10000 Kelvin tru color 175

Q: is there a SOP on changing bulbs to minimize Bleaching and still give the Corals what they need? Lights how high for how long? Gradually decrease distance, or after a certain time, lower to where they used to be?

Any help would be great,
Tom

Well...this is just my system, not saying its the best or the worst..

But when a bulb is replaced, i keep my lights at 12 inches above the water line for two weeks, then for the next 2 weeks, at 9...then rest at your normal running height...for me, that is 8 inches for my halides...

Be sure not to touch the bulb with bare fingers, it will ruin it.

Thanks, Niko. I definitely needed some guidelines to go by. Mine were off by a mile.
I appreciate it, Buddy.

Thanks, I do always use a nice chunk of toilet paper to change 'em.

My knuckle did touch one once. Just for half a second and it's a nice scar now.
