Can an urchin be added after the cycle like the other cleanup crew? Also what safety precautions should I take when handling an urchin? Can urchins be exposed to air? How do I move an urchin from a bucket to the tank?

to be on the safe side for all of these, keep and transport the urchin in a container that's clean enough to where you don't mind putting it in the tank and just release it from there.

thats how I got mine in, put a container in the tank I was drip acclimating them in, then when he was in it I picked up the container and poured him into my tank(after pouring most of the old water off).

They dont mind getting a little air on them, mine crawls up to the edge of the surface.

I am by no means an expert on these guys, I was given him by a guy taken down his tank, just sharring my personal experience with them.

best to keep em under water all the time. cup or toper ware works best the spines can be out just not the body. and u can ware gloves like aqua gloves or u can just be careful.
