A local breeder has some veiled angelfish I want to buy. They are now 2 months old, dime-sized.

He says they are too small to be tankmates with my golden wonder killis and 8 congo tetras. At what size would it be safe to add the angels? I hope that I can reserve some until they are larger, since I haven't got space for a tank to grow them in. And how long should I expect until the angels are large enough?

I am looking for a new home for the killis. I would house the angel(s) with the 8 congos and eventually a school of ~ 16 rummynose tetras and 6 to 8 corydoras, in a 75 gallon tank.

Can I get more than 1 angel? I'd love to have more than one, but I don't want a pair to form and terrorize the other fish. What is a good number that will live harmoniously and healthily in my size tank, with that community?
Any suggestions for numbers of corys/rummynose/other fish would be helpful.

thanks

In my 75 I have three angels, four rams, twenty black neons, twelve cardinals, six rasboras, a rainbow shark, and eight adolfoi corys. I don't think it is too much and everyone gets along pretty well.

How big are your Congos? You will always have a chance that two will pair off.

My congos are quite large, 2 1/2 to 3 inches.

I ended up not getting any angels. A friend got ten to grow out in her tank and I may get some from her when they are larger, but I still want to hold out for some blonds and there were none in this batch.

I brought back some albino corys and after the killis started stalking them I found a pet store employee thrilled to take them.
