I am in the process of converting my 55g Marine tank into Freshwater. I have already installed the UGF with two 200gph (approx 800 lph) powerheads connected at both ends. Here are my questions:
1. Are the powerheads too much? I am using these since I already have from the previous setup.
2. My sump has been converted to a trickle filter. In the sump, I have a UV sterilizer which uses an airpump that generates the bubbles. Do I still need an airpump on the main tank?
3. Is the sterilizer useful for freshwater setup?

The technical stuff for this is all above my head, but I know that many cichlids love strong currents and are indigenous to rapids. I guess it depends on what you want to do.

be careful changing from ugf to rugf while you still have fish in, can you qt them for 2 or 3 days until everything settles back down...you may even go thro' a mini cycle
