i want to prepare my own fish food and would like to see if any of you would share your recipies!

Yes....i buy clams, squid, silversides, krill and scollaps....Blend it with some Nori and a touch of blended garlic, fill ice trays up...and slam it in the freezer....Cheap, whole-some and lasts for ages....

I've made a mix of carrots (shreded), romaine lettuce, broccoli and some berries (sort of a treat) for my veggie eaters... add in a cap of seachem's reef plus, some garlic powder and knox unflavoured gelatin to hold it together. Gota get some seafood to make a meaty mix soon.

Atnixon do you use the gelatin as well? do either of you beefheart? i seem to think i saw some frozen beef cubes at the lfs.j
Dorkfish do you freeze your veggie mix and if so how long does it last?

No, i dont use gelatin...when it has been blended it is easily managed with a spoon into the ice cube trays...i throw away what ever is left at the end of the month and freeze some more...

You just buy fresh seafood from your local supermarket?

yes.....and then either finely chop it or blend it...

natural is so much better, as long as its fresh and clean, my frozen foods although nutrient filled give off so much phosphates ive been trying to switch myself...just cant find any good markets here.

thanks for al your replys....in connecticut there a lots of great places to get fresh seafood...i actually dive and for years get lots of soft and hard shelled clams ...im sure my family going to be sramin at me for feeding the fish THIER clams...lol

rockethippo, nothing tastes better than poppin them open while your still in the water..i even have a mini bottle of tabasco sauce i keep in my dive bag!!!!!
