Acriflavine and Copper at the same time?

I'm trying to treat a Velvet infestation in my tank. My LFS recommended Copper Sulfate which I used (along with darkening the tank), but I'm now reading that Copper might not be very effective and Acriflavine should be used instead.

Since [SIZE=-1]Oodinium is said to be tough to kill, can I treat with both medications at the same time?

All my fish are flashing, rubbing on the gravel and making jerky movements like they are getting bitten by the little buggers.

hope you don't have shrimp, snails, or any other inverts.. the copper will kill them.

on the other note, i do not recommend using 2 medications at once to treat the same symptom.. that would be comparable to taking a full dose of ibuprofen AND a full dose of acetaminophen to combat a headache.

since you already started the copper, follow through with it and note your results, if none, remove the copper with water changes/carbon and THEN use the other medication.

No inverts.

OK, thanks for the advice. I'll try to be patient. I'm just concerned since everything I read about velvet says it's pretty nasty and kills the fish pretty quick.
