Woo Hooooo, my Wal-Mart (or was it K-Mart) bulbs I threw in the tank just sprouted. Well, two of them anyway. Threw the third one out becaus it floated. Obviously rotten. But two of them are growing!!! :dance: Ha, maybe I'll be able to figure out what they are soon. :) Yeah, sometimes it does pay to get out of bed!
 
Update: Them bulbs is growin' like crazy. (must be the fish poop :) ) They were both about two inches tall friday and now... the leaves have doubled in size and one of them put a shoot up to the top of the water. Lilly pad or bloom I suppose. Funniest part is they did it all in the dark. This tank is on my desk at work and when the lights go out friday, it stays totally dark until monday morning. Yeah I know, I'm working on a timer so my Betta has some light over the weekend.
 
sounds like aponegeton to me.. that's the usual stuff in the 'drop-in' bulbs sold at walmart and the like.. and it gorws like CRAZY! if you have an open space above the tank watch for white blooms sticking out.. theyre very pretty.
 
Yup, aponegeton alright. I was planning on transplanting one into my big tank when It got a little bigger. (one's in a pot) Happened faster than I expected. Guess I'll take it home tonight. :)
 
Be very gentle, mine had easy to tear leaves. Nice tender fish salad leaves. All gone now, they even ate the bulbs. Well just the middles. Mine were aponegetons, very pretty. They have lily bulbs too sometimes but probably loach food too.

Thanks fishorama. Transfered it last night and all is well so far.
