I bought a watchman goby today and when I put it in the tank it sort of floated down and disappeared in amongst the rock - I haven't seen him since!! Should I be worried? I put it in at about half 1 today, I wanted to get a burrowing shrimp of some kind but LFS didn't have any - does anyone know any websites I could buy from - UK only!
Also my blenny doesn't seem to eat the nori or julian sprungs veggies that I put in, I splash some garlic on it but he doesn't seem to be interested still, is there anything else I could try as I don't want him to starve?

My goby is kind of shy and the first week we got the tank, didn't come out at all. Now, he's still pretty skittish, but he'll come out during feeding time and if he thinks no one is in the room. Though he does seem to like my toddler so he comes out if it's just her. I'm clearly no expert on gobies, since I just started keeping fish, but if mine is anything to go by, maybe yours will act similar once he's used to his new home.

yeah teh more cave dwelling fish(like grammas and gobies) tend tolike to hidein the LR when stressed, like when they are first placed in the tank.
unless you didn't properly acclimate him he should be alright,andyou'll see him in a few days.

I used the method described in 'The concientious Marine Aquarist' but repeated the steps 5 times instead of once or twice - it took just over an hour.

What kind of blenny is it? How long have you it?

The goby's probably just hanging out in the rockwork for now getting used to its new home. I wouldn't worry quite yet. Have you seen the goby today yet?

It's an algae blenny - Benny the blenny! lol
I've just sat by the tank for about 20 minutes and the goby came out from under a rock had a look round and disappeared again! At least I know it's alive!! I think I'll call him Gordon! If he comes out again I'll try and get a pic.

might just be hiding my watchman goby dissapeared for weeks when i switched to my 55 gallon back when. wait it out and hope for the best.

oh great I have a watchman in QT atm. I better get some pics now while its nice and easy. I hate buying fish spending the $$$$$ then never being able to find them after I intro. to my main tank. Royal Gramma, Cleaner shrimp, Lawnmower blennie.....all MIA. :( :( :(
