Hello,

I was wondering what the standard practice for inverts in a refugium are. I just set one up with a sand bed, live rock, and caluerpa. Should I add a small clean up crew (couple of snails, hermits, etc.)? My refugium is about 1/3 of a 15 gallon tank.

i have none in my fuge...full of pods, mysis, and stomatella snails. but depending on fuge size a few hermist and a snail or two. u basically want algae to grow in a fuge so it doesnt so much in the main tank. plus in there it can safly remove phosphates and u dont have to look at the ugly diatoms of cyanobacteria.

I dropped a couple of hermits in there to catch anything that drops down into the fuge. I don't plan on adding anything else for a while. We'll see how it goes.
